Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21 1982. Maggie Grace is an American actor best known for her character Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Following the divorce of her parents her parents separated, she moved to Worthington Ohio in order to settle in Los Angeles. She landed her debut role as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time in the financial department. In 2002 she was nominated to receive a Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford was the main actor in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. Grace was a co-star with Tom Welling on The Fog during 2005, was looking to go to film. In 2007, she starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). In addition, she played Alice as Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is a modern version from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace performed the role of Shannon again in Lost's finale and in two additional episodes. She was in 2013 for the sixth season of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who is both an avid stargazer as well as a socialite. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. Being part of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the younger sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first appearances were in films starring her father in his adolescent years. Along with her brother, she also appeared in Donnie Darko (2000). Then she appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's lead roles in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico and Sherrybaby (a dramatic) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Award. She gained wider recognition after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercials she appeared in the year 2006. In 2009, she was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress at the Oscar Awards for her performance of a single mother as she appeared in Crazy Heart. In the following years, she appeared in dramatics and comedies: Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). Other roles she has played include a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) and a musician in Frank (2014) and her role as the lead in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal's debut as a filmmaker and writer came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psychological thriller in which she won the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. She also won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
