Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she moved to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma always had the desire to be a professional actress when she was just six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy which offers classes for part-time students. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach as well as school plays before she turned ten. Casting began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through eight straight auditions. Emma's debut on screen came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in the year 2001. It beat all previous records in terms of its opening and weekend ticket revenues, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. It was highly acclaimed by experts, and also by the performances of its three stars. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance.
